Yeah, I can see him fitting in down there after his comments about them on a Dutch television programme.

Is he any good...?
Oh well, he must be better than Patrick Paauwe, who will almost certainly lose his spot now.
F-Word are improving their defense. They had no other choice. So far they were a complete joke, defensively. I thought Östlund was a pretty good player at Euro 2004. Could be a good purchase. Never heard of Cory Gibbs before, though.
As for midfielder Nick Hofs (from Vitesse): he's a typical player from the 'nothing special' category, if you ask me. Alfred Schreuder (NAC before he moved to rottingdam) is a far better player, but he never made it at F-Word. I certainly don't expect any miracles from Mr Hofs either.

cory was the guy who marked ruud very well in the US-ORANJE friendly last year at the ArenA - he also played wingback and defensive midfielder for st. pauli, but has settled into being a center back - he is strong, quick and very enthusiastic in the tackle - he does tend to lose focus a little from time to time and can work on his long distribution - st pauli fans thought well of him in his 3 years (including one in bundesliga), dubbing him the "battle spyder" for his tough tackles and skinny long legs - he will probably need some time to adjust to the attacking nature of eredivisie, but he's a nice player

Definitely looked at as part of the generation the replaces Eddie Pope in the USMNT along with the likes of Jim Curtin(Chicago) and Jeff Parke(MetroStars). I think that, sadly, he'll be a good purchase for the hated opposition.

Now this is what I call passion and is exactly what we missed on Sunday. This is a quote from the Braintree Town manager :-
"‘The lads were buzzing after the game and I can’t praise their performance highly enough. Talking to Billericay manager Justin Edinburgh after the game, he was just shell-shocked and it’s nice to see all the hard work the lads and I have put in over the past few months starting to pay dividends. Yes I know that, despite them losing on Saturday, Yeading are still ten points clear of us, but we’ve got them firmly in our sights now. We’ve got fifteen league matches to play and I want to make one thing absolutely clear. Yeading will need to keep winning because this Braintree team are going to chase them to the very end. My team have a strength of character, a steely determination and are getting better and better with each game we play. The league table doesn’t lie. We’ve now lost just once in sixteen league games - a tremendous record. Nobody in the league has lost fewer games than us, we’ve got the best goal difference in the league and the meanest defence. And we’re now starting to score goals as twenty-four in our last nine outings emphasises. Yeading come to Cressing Road on Easter Saturday, but before then we’ve got seven league games to concentrate on and I’ll be looking to win each and every one of them. I know that that big Easter game against Yeading is still some way off but what I will say is this. I’m sure it will be one hell of a game"
The push for a CL slot in 2011/12 is on !!!!!!!!
